Modular Bunk Bed

Modular design bunk bed with vertical ladder on end is made of solid hardwood, available in three colors and three sizes and comes in 71” height.

This bunk bed is part of our Modular Collection. The name is for the fact that bunk is made of many building blocks which give you a lot of choices.

Made of either birch, maple, or aspen premium knot free solid hardwood. You can not choose your wood type, the factory does it.

Usability

The modular design means you have zillions of options before your purchase and lots of possibilities in the future. This isbecause you can purchase parts and convert your bunk to something else, say to two loft beds for example.

You can use our modular design bunk bed for kids, teens andadults.

This bunk divides into two individual beds. One of the headboards has an opening for the ladder so you may want to change it to differentheadboard if you decide to separate your bunk in the future. You can purchase each part separately.

Slats are made of knotty solid pine wood. They are about 2.5” wide and 2.5” apart from each other.

Under Bed Storage

You can add a storage trundle under this bunk bed, or normal trundle bed for allowing an extra mattress. In addition, you can add an under bed dresser or a set of two drawers under this bunk.

Safety

Modular design bunk has a rating of 400 lb distributed weight on the upper deck and it is fair to say the lower deck can also hold just as much.

There are 4 metal pings, purpose built Rocklocks, which locks the upper to lower headboards.

Under the queen size bed, lower bunk, there is also a center support for extra strength.

Ladder

This bunk comes with a thick and sturdy ladder. Each rung is almost 3” wide with anti slip grooves so as to prevent slipping. You can install the ladder on the left or right side of this bunk.

Assembly

Assembly of Modular Design bunk is reasonably simple. No need to assemble the headboards but you need to assemble the ladder, the guard rails, connect mattress rails, and slats. The tricky bit is installing the Rocklock which are the metal pins securing top to lower bunk.

Mattress

Standard size mattress fits this bunk bed just fine. For the upper bunk, you can use a maximum 6” thick mattress and for the lower bunk, use a mattress between 6 to 8” thick.

Please keep in mind that for the upper bunk you need an extra long single (twin) or extra long double (full) size mattress.
