Solid Wood Daybed

Panel Design solid wood Daybed is available in five standard sizes and comes with many head and footboard height options.

Panel Daybed is part of our Cottage Collection. The name is for its look, each headboard is a panel.

Made of solid Southern Yellow Pine. Yellow Pine is denser than our own BC pine. Strong enough that some roller coasters are made from this wood.

Usability

Daybed is a type of platform bed that both head and footboards are equal height and a guard rail connects them from one side so you can use it for sleeping and lounging.

This solid wood Daybed is fine for any age. Kids, teens, or adults all can use this Daybed without a problem.

We also recommend to use a Daybed instead of a toddler bed once your child outgrows the crib. You may want to add a front guard rail which we do sell them as well separately. Take advantage of extra long versions for teens or grown ups.

Underbed Storage

You can add a storage trundle or an under bed dresser under this Daybed. Storage trundle is the same width as the Daybed and therefore you can use the entire under bed space.

Safety

Our Panel Daybed is very sturdy and can hold 400 lbs of weight. To achieve this weight rating, the mattress rail on this bed is a solid and very thick piece of wood without finger joints, just a long solid piece of timber.

Headboard joints are traditional and robust mortise and tenon.

Slats are made of solid wood as well. They are 5.25” wide and you get 9 of them per bed.

Assembly

The Assembly of Panel Design Daybed is fairly simple. No need to assemble the panels. You only need to connect mattress rails to head/foot boards, the panels, and screw in the slats.

There are a total of 8 metal connector bolts and 16 barrel nuts to secure mattress rails to both head and footboard.

Mattress and Boxspring

Standard size mattress fits this bed just fine and there is no restriction on mattress thickness.

You do not need to use a boxspring for our Panel Design Daybed. Slats are made of solid wood and you get 9 of them at 5.25” wide each. These slats create a nice platform for your mattress for support and space in between so your mattress can breath. If you need to add more slats, it is possible.

Price includes a Daybed frame and slats. We sell mattresses separately as there are lots of choices to choose from.
